Cocoa Acres V1.11


I'm so sorry I'm so slow to reply to comments and messages!! I'll get to that tomorrow, it's been a bit hectic haha BUT I've been super busy the last 24 hours! The game is a completely different experience than it was a day ago which is pretty nuts!

A new build has been uploaded with some major additions and minor changes. The next few days will be dedicated to bug fixes but I wanted to get a couple new things in. These devlogs will be mainly updated over the next three bug fixing days, but will only be updated from here on out for major revisions


Changelog V1.01: (Uploaded to Windows Monday afternoon)

  • Timescale speed increased x2 for demo purposes
  • Bed time removed, you can now sleep at any time

Changelog V1.1: (Monday Evening, all platforms)

  • Roc-cocoa map added 
  • Forest map with object generation added
  • Levi and shop menu moved inside of Roc-cocoa
  • Levi CG added 
  • Levi's introduction event also added in rough form
  • Foraging expedition added North of the town where the player can venture deeper into the forest by chopping down trees and rocks and branches to get items. (Eventually there will be special items after a certain number of spaces)
  • Addition of the cliffs by the foraging expedition
  • Addition of ability to chop down trees, collect fruits and chop branches & stones in the forest area
  • Addition of new items: apple, peach, grape, orange, maple sap, hazelnuts

  • Days were accidently passing months when going to bed through the 1am forced bedtime, now it should be working

Changelog V1.11:(Tuesday Night , All platforms)

  • Additional fix for the actual bedtime
  • Ability to stack bedtimes now removed
  • Fixed priority of the bed and certain tables
  • Fixed issue where spamming the circle menu would cause a visual glitch
  • The rival system in the bed time has been restored
  • Your daily goal is now adjusted based on your shops popularity
  • The increase or decrease of your popularity is tied to the rival system rather than arbitrary numbers
  • Adjusted sizing of spawned collectables that are magnetically drawn to you
  • Fixed issue with magnetic items where they would not be collected if you were standing too close when it spawned
  • Fixed loopable background on the title screen and character select not looping 
  • While it is not presently visible on the frontend in the dialogue for the sake of the demo, you will now receive 10fp per day for talking to the villagers
  • Fixed issue with the item name appearing above the top inventory slots only
  • Fixed an issue where the inventory slots flew into space on click :)
  • Fixed an issue with item name alignment in the item name popup graphic
  • The player will no longer teleport off into the middle of nowhere before transitioning between maps
  • Added Catfish, Salmon and Carp items (non-cookable atm just sellable for a low price)
  • Re-enabled fishing & removed Lottie's dialogue in regards to it not being available
  • Fixed issue with fishing not detecting button press
  •  Lottie's mouth now moves when she is labelled as "???"
  • Added sound effects for: casting lure, pulling lure and fish on hook, inventory additions from magnetic items
  • Added tool equip HUD and and enter exit event after 3 seconds idle except when in dialogue or cutscene
  • 8 additional pieces of dialogue added to Levi (though still not dynamic)
  • Fixed issue where watering can was not depleting
  • Added Watering Can upgrades to Lottie's shop
  • Resolved issue where the text box would sometimes lose the ability to print the player name
  • Fixed issue where the shop would not visually reduce the wallet amount until reloaded
  • Fixed issue where plant patches would remain watered no matter what 
  • Fixed issue where 50% of the time the floor would appear above the bedroom walls, hiding the path out.
  • Slightly Randomized the location of spawned magnetic items from the processor and drink machine
  • Fixed some issues where it was possible to move while certain menus were up
  • Grapes incorrectly listed as Oranges
  • Added Preliminary item queue notifications. It basically runs through all items you receive in a queue, and currently the quantity doesn't stack, and you get a new notification for every item you receive regardless of whether or not it is a duplicate-- which is annoying but I plan to fix tomorrow.


TL;DR:

- Item notification queue stacks quantities of items (So you don't have to sit through 20 diff notifications of one apple) -- I'm really sorry I couldn't get this in in time for v1.11
